Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024!
2023 has been a very successful year for NorNet. NorNet Edge got major upgrades of the infrastructure with many new 5G nodes. Also, the other measurement infrastructure, including our Real-Time NorNet Edge Measurements Map, got extended. Last but not least, there have been several new conference and journal publications based on NorNet Edge and NorNet Core measurement data. This particularly includes work on our open source measurement tool High-Performance Connectivity Tracer (HiPerConTracer), State of Polarisation (SoP) measurements in fibre cable infrastructure (see our poster presentation here), as well as new publications from the successful collaboration between SimulaMet and Copenhagen Business School (CBS, Handelshøjskolen i København) on cloud systems. Further progress has also been made on the work for virtualising experimental, OpenAirInterface-based 4G/5G core networks using OpenSource MANO and Virtual Network Functions (VNF). As usual, all publications can be found in the Publications section!
